Gas Plant - Saudi Arabia

The Owner of a gas facility contracted a Main Contractor to design and build an ethane recovery facility for its plant in Saudi Arabia. A specialist Subcontractor was hired by the Main Contractorto design and manufacture the compressor packages. Consilium was employed by the Subcontractor to review the contract completion obligations and prepare a claim for delay and additional works after the Main Contractor retained substantial liquidated damages and other monies for alleged back-charges. The Main Contractor disputed the Subcontractor’s claims and the matter moved to mediation.

Consilium drafted the mediation statement and assisted in an eventual negotiated settlement, which resulted in the recovery of most of the retained damages.
